Snoqualmie Pass carries I-90 over the Cascade crest at 3,022 feet, about 50 miles east of Seattle. It is a working freight corridor as much as a ski road: when a storm parks over the crest, this is where Washington feels it first, with chain requirements, avalanche control holds, and full closures all in the playbook.
The requirement shown on this page is the WSDOT posting for the whole pass segment. Traction signs on the road mark where the requirement starts and ends; the posting here and the signs there come from the same WSDOT report.
For the summit forecast, see Snoqualmie Pass weather. Heading over a different crossing? This site also tracks Stevens Pass conditions, White Pass conditions, and Blewett Pass conditions, all live from WSDOT.
