Vantage Bridge & I-90 Road Conditions

Vantage is where I-90 crosses the Columbia River on a high bridge in the middle of Washington, about 30 miles east of Ellensburg. There is no pass here, but the crossing has its own weather: strong crosswinds funnel down the river gorge, and WSDOT restricts high profile vehicles on the bridge when the gusts build.

The cameras above look along the bridge in both directions and at the town approach. On concert nights at the Gorge Amphitheatre, a few minutes east, traffic can stack back across the bridge; the Gorge exit camera shows that queue forming before you are in it.
